About Gerber Good Start Gentle
Gerber Good Start Gentle is an infant formula manufactured by Swiss transnational company Nestle. This infant formula is designed to be gentler on infant’s sensitive tummies that often caused some issues like eczema when feed with regular infant formula. Eczema or atopic dermatitis is currently one if the most common allergic disease in infant around the world. Aside from the infant formula, Gerber Good Start Gentle also available in stage two for older children above 1 year.

Gerber Good Gentle is used as breast milk substitute when the mother couldn’t produce enough breast milk or can’t provide exclusive breastfeeding. If the mother is capable to do so, there is no need to give infant formula. The infant formula also not recommended to be given to infants who are allergic towards milk or those with milk allergy symptoms.

This infant formula is designed for gassy and fussy infants caused by their current formula that may not suitable for their sensitive tummy. Gas and uncomfortable feeling in infant’s tummy is often caused by the protein in their infant formula that was still too hard for them to digest yet since their digestive system is still developing. This is commonly not a serious problem and can be easily fix by changing their formula to gentle one like Enfamil Gentlease.

Enfamil Gentlease is also available in non-GMO version for those mothers who are worry about the effect of GMO related ingredients in their infant formula. For being one of the top formula recommended by pediatrician Gentlease is claimed to be able to work fast easing fussiness, gas and crying within 24 hours after your infant being fed with the formula. Enfamil Gentlease Ingredients
Since Enfamil Gentlease is designed for infant with sensitive tummy, the regular ingredients is being replace with partially hydrolyzed nonfat milk and whey protein concentrate from soybean. Partially hydrolyzed milk is used for it is gentler on infant stomach since the protein and lactose is already broken down into smaller pieces to ease infant digesting it. As the carbohydrate and fat source, corn syrup solids and vegetable oils is used respectively.

The main difference between both formulas is what issue they focused on; Gerber is focusing on skin rash that caused by milk while Enfamil focused in infant digestive system. Both use gentler protein but still contain lactose, so both formulas are not suitable for lactose sensitive infants. For the carbohydrate source, Gerber use corn maltodextrin that contain less sugar than corn syrup in Enfamil.
